They are stealing away your joy.
My child, you make them way too high for yourself.
You are just a little boy.
My child, I don’t expect you to always be first,
fastest, or the best.
My child, calm down and relax,
In Me, you can rest.
My child–Please, you need to know
Your value is not based on what you do.
My child, all I’ve ever wanted
is for you to know—
I LOVE YOU.

expectations do steal joy, don’t they? yes to sabbath and resting in the One who walks with us.
They certainly can when they are impossible to reach. So thankful He’s there to wrap His loving arms around us…
